Laila has the most incredible curly hair and I absolutely love how she embraces it and doesn’t try to straighten it. So often we want to change something about ourselves because we always want what we don’t have, you know, the good old “grass is always greener” mentality. I hope Laila never tries to change her beautiful curls, after all they are what makes her her. This portrait of Laila is part of my Return to Innocence work that aims to show young girls how beautiful they are in their own skin.
